Scott Campbell Moons

Title: They Say Miracles Are Past

Client: Scott Campbell

Description: Artist Scott Campbell asked us to help him create this series of 15 pieces. Each piece started as a black and white photograph of the moon in different phases. We created height map geometry from each and machined it from high-density urethane foam. Scott then decorated each piece with the kind of lo-fi graffiti you would find on bathroom walls before casting transparent black resin onto each. The 2D photo was rendered into 3D, and then flattened to 2D again within the resin.
